Dr. Nandini N Inamdar is the Consultant and Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bangalore. A seasoned professional with vast experience in hematology, histopathology, cytopathology, and flow cytometry, she has led key advancements in blood banking, donor management, stem cell harvest, therapeutic apheresis, and cryopreservation.
Under her leadership, the hospital’s blood centre scaled from 1,200 to over 6,700 annual collections, including over 1,200 single donor platelet procedures. She has supported 166 bone marrow transplants and implemented universal blood component irradiation. A recognised researcher, she is the primary investigator in several CAR-T cell and immune cell therapy studies with Aurigene Oncology.
She is a life member of ISBTI and has trained extensively in transplant immunology and blood safety. Her vision includes automation in blood grouping, organ transplant support, advanced cellular therapies, and expanding services for non-malignant hematological conditions.
